01

How wireless networks work

Wireless networks carry data by radio between antennas. Directional dishes link distant points, sector antennas cover the surroundings. Link quality depends on line of sight, interference and maintenance.

02

A community approach

Community networks grow from people sharing knowledge, antenna sites and responsibility for operation. Agreement, safety and consideration for neighbours matter.

03

Safety

  • Work on roofs and masts only with proper protection
  • Comply with radio spectrum usage conditions
  • Protect devices and data with up-to-date security
